I waiting for the big down fall and then out i'll go Got the snow shovel, tow rope and the twin flasher for the roof in the boot just in case - its amazing what even the most standard of jimny will pull. Best time of the year for us jimny owners, every body scoffs that we have hairdressers cars, but they soon eat their words when you drive past them, back up in front and ask them if they want a tow when they get stuck

Not had to rescue anyone yet Unfortunately living in the flatlands theres a distinct lack of hills for people to get stuck on!
Last time we had the snow i pulled a transit about 1/4mile up to a main road, the road had a gentle slope that made it impossible for him.
Best one by far was a 7.5 tonne truck! They had delivered to us and parked nose to the building, when he tried reversing to go it slid sideways and finished less than a foot from the pub wall! I hooked up the straps and while he kept the wheels spinning i pulled it away from the wall, wasn't too bad as while it was spinning i wasn't pulling dead weight and it was almost empty.
However........less than a month later the clutch let go We couldn't see any other option though, there was no room for him to go forward to clear snow from behind the wheels so he was still sat on snow.

Any help that surprises people usually prompts the question of "what engines in that?"
The expression when you tell them its only a 1.3 is worth it. Most don't understand the simple concept of low range......

I've yet to tow someone however I've been providing a taxi service for some of the stranded guys at work. These cars are amazing, where I live in newcastle is at the top of a 1 in 3 hill with 10" of snow and the car gets up it without even trying. The mega nobbly tyres I have make a big difference.
