Scandalous prices Foxtrot, I wonder if they are actually selling? It's amazing that dealerships can get away with selling a second hand car for more money than when it was new.

l complained twice to Suzuki UK about this, both times they replied and said that while they don't condone it, once a dealer had registered a vehicle it was classed as used, and "out of Suzuki UK's hands"
So the dealer can sell it for whatever price they want.

For me, it was the initial scandal of the dealers buying the cars themselves in order to be able to charge the "used" price that was the issue.

With no new cars in the system that has gone. Therefore dealers are charging the market rate plus their margin (so they will be £2000+ above market.

With the new Commercial, Suzuki are centrally vetting customers to deter the dealers doing that, all sales will be handled centrally. Dealers have to put forward their recommended customer (however that would not prevent dealers putting forward their "cousin")
You're right Martin, the way that the majority of Suzuki dealerships conducted themselves with the feeding frenzy by preregistering the cars and selling for a premium blew their reputation  way out of the water and took them back to the 1970s attitude that a car salesmen had towards their customers. Due to the minimum amount of commercial Jimnys that will be entering the UK each year I dont have a  single doubt that they will  be pulling a different kind of stunt to squeeze the customer out of more cash than the RRP.

The new ones are here in the docks in Bristol, apparently there is a short delay clearing them due to some sort of certification issue with the immobiliser.

For the bulk of cars they send them to auction or one of the car warehouses. However for a few cars they have trade buyers looking for something specific. Therefore there will be a bidding situation where they are effectively asking them what they will pay
