Has anybody had any success with remapping the ECU on the Gen 4 Jimny?
l realise that with no turbo, gains will be small, but l wondered if any improvement is possible?

I have heard of companies claiming 10pc but so far not one has produced a dyno print to substantiate those claims. There is a company in Somerset who do itb conversions on the gen3 motor and its cousins in the swift that have produced some interesting results and they will doubtless be looking into the newer motors too but I have not seen anything specific from them yet. CTC if memory serves.

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)
One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.

l've seen a couple of turbo conversions and that must be amusing, l bet the front tyres don't last long, and if you accelerate into a corner it will most likely understeer straight into the nearest hedge/wall/tree

Replace the word "front" with "rear" and the word "under" with "over". But yes, lots of fun. Much more fun that a FWD vehicle!

Yes RWD when in 2WD (2H), it's not quite the same as the MR2's I've had though lol.

This should be obvious if you drive at all spiritedly. It might be worth making better use of the ponies you already have before seeking more!

l'm not sure why l thought it was FWD in normal
driving mode.
l doubt l will drive it fast enough to find the limits
of traction.

Yet you are looking at tuning options? I'm a little confused on what you are trying to achieve?

Nothing wrong with wanting a bit more oomph, even if you're not planning on driving on the ragged edge. I plod along but would certainly be up for a small bump to power/torque to improve acceleration and the ability to maintain a constant speed on an incline without the box kicking down into 'scream' mode. :)
