Jimny to be cut from uk/eu market?

This is very disappointing, but fully understandable. I bought my first Jimny (a 2012) in October last year, I prefer the styling of that model, but I am a little taken by my Jimny and it has crossed my mind to think about a new one in may be a year or so. Trouble is if they aren't going to bring them in to Europe the only ones available and all of the second hand gen4s will go through the roof.

Very sad that they didn't give it a more modern efficient engine, that would have imprioved power and fuel economy.

Crikey get the nail gun it'll be quicker, someone's trying to nail down the lid and the bodies not in the box yet.
This reply is to the thread in general and not aimed at DrRobin (and yet sounds appropriate). Chris

Sorry to be dome and glome, but if you cut off the supply, then eventually it will die. That been said this announcement might push up the value of our Jimny's.

I hope Martin has a good stock of spares as that is the next thing which will go (sorry more dome and glome).

Mind my other car is 19 years old, still going strong and you can still get all of the bits (they still make a much updated version) and my motor bike is now 43 years old (owned by me for 35 years), you can get all of the bits for that as well and mine would be going well except I am saving it for a retirement project.

Im pretty sure that spare parts will be available enough and long enough. Even if they dont sell jimnys in Europe anymore you still can get spares for it.

Hey, the good news in that was that they will be back with a more efficient engine, which will mean less road tax!

Don't quote me in 5 years when we still don't have them though please!

Don’t you think that the Jimny will just become a “classic car” in the same way as the Morris Minor has done. It is a uniquely designed car, relatively easy to work on and great fun to drive. I can’t imagine that it’s engine is any less efficient than the Morris 1000 engine and certainly the chassis and body of the Jimny is no more prone to rust than was the Morris. Providing the demand is there spare parts will be produced and websites such as this will maintain the knowledge and skills to maintain these fantastic little cars.
