Hi all, Iv own a 1.3 07 reg jimny which has been very reliable until last Friday. The padlock through the car symbol has come up on the dash, which my boss says it's an immobiliser problem.weve checked all the fuses and he's put his machine on the ecu, and no fault codes have come up, so it was wondering if anyone on this forum had had this issue them self's
Cheers!

Hello,
No expert on this myself, and from what I have seen on the forum most issues revolve around replacement or lost keys.
Yes it's the immobiliser, your key has a transponder inside that is seen by the RF reader near the ignition barrel, the key code logged in the ECU. No transponder or communication to ECU = no start.
So if you have a second key can you try this?
Alternatively try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes to reset the system and try again.
Over to the experts for further suggestions and good luck
Mike
