I can't see any reason you couldn't carry a lot more than 30kg because the new one has a roof gutter
So give it a few months and someone will be selling landrover style racks with six or so feet that clamp to the gutter
only my opinion
The 1st 2nd and 3rd gen jimny had plastic feet on roof bars that why the weight limit was low

This Jimny in south Africa has a pretty extensive roof rack with plenty of clamps holding it down., Nice colour Jimny as well..

It looks like there is an even more basic model out there, don't know what market this is intended for?

Yeah there are 3 levels of trim on the global Suzuki website, but only 2 will be available in Europe and Australia. So presumably the most basic version is for Asian/South American markets.

2004 Jimny Mode: General Grabber AT3s (215/75/R15); Trailmaster 2" Lift; Jimnybits Snorkel; Jimnybits Front and Rear Recovery Points; Suntop Roof Rack; AVM Manual Hubs; Stainless Steel Exhaust System (SOLD)

I feel like I've watched every video on YouTube, but that's the first I've seen with wind up windows.

Basic Jimny

That was always the case. Back in 1999 when we bought our firsty Jimny there was only one trim level in the UK, JLX, that had steel wheels, power steering, electric mirrors, air bags and a very basic central locking with no remote facility. Within a few years there were two models and the more expensive cars tended to alloy wheels, in some cases leather seats, front fog lights and some had air con but for a while Suzuki sold an air con kiit for the basic car.

At the time in the asian market there was a more basic car sold with a lesser spec than the JLX but not in Europe or Australia.
