I have vitara calipers and jimny vented discs fitted....fitted straight in....I remember bleeding was a modified approach as the nipple was lower....but they fitted straight on.

Thanks Keithy it's been hard trying to find early vitara calipers that had vented discs and a 5 door for bigger pistons.

These calipers are readily available new, and not so costly either if you buy them online.

I strongly recommend to buy spanking new brake parts mainly for two reasons:

Availability. If we don't buy new service parts they will be more expencive due to lesser volume made and in the worst case discontinued.

Safety. I sell alot of used car parts but never sell used brake parts or other safety related parts like seat belts..
You never know what the donor vehicle has been thru.

Early Vitara lwb 5 door 1.6 16v calipers from around beginning to 1998 will fit.
Note that 3 door and 8 valve models does not have vented discs.
Bleed port will not face upwards so you will need to loosen calipers and turn so the bleed vent is up when you bleed the brakes as Keithy mentioned .

Early Vitara vented discs has smaller inner diameter in the center hole on the brake disc so these did not fit my 2005 Jimny.
But Jimny Diesel discs is the thing i guess?

Forgive my ignorance but do you also need the carrier from the donor or is it just the new caliper that bolts to the existing Jimny carrier?

I've just fitted discs to the rear and want to get rid of the solid front discs and upgrade to vented with larger calipers so yes I will also need the carriers .

Early Vitara lwb calipers will fit your excisting front carriers.

Edit: As Nissan300 pointed out, carriers have to be wider to accommodate vented discs. I have to check my parts at home to see if i used the vitara carriers...

Yes they would but my carriers are not wide enough to accept a vented disc. I'm waiting for to postman to deliver vitara lwb discs and calipers with the carriers today can't wait as I love working on my jimny.
