I've got to say though, I've driven the patmobile through enough scratchy lanes and it always seems to fair quite well. Think Suzuki paint must be reasonably hard (?)

I agree about the Suzuki paint. Mine has had some abuse with lanes/competitions and every time its only been surface stuff.
It only seams to be the lacquer that marks, with a light polish it comes back well each time. :)

Hopefully that means that there is some hope for mine, I don't think it has ever been polished in its life and I want to get it looking slightly better than it does now!

Hi guys if you organise another id love to tag along . Ihave done some of these locked lanes in the winter on my enduro bike .( still open to 2 wheels ) .I know a fair few lanes around maidstone / bluebell hill and the surrounding areas . Im near dartford so not far from some of you guys ,be happy to show you where i go . have some lanes with big steps on, steep climbs and some really scratchy ones lol . i have permit for locked gates on pilgrims / bredhurst /hollybush hill as well . its worth getting as i have been stopped by police on these lanes before .
