Cheers all, very helpful, think I'll go with the 1.6 and maybe put lower geared diffs in if I feel the need. If I had the cash or the expertise I'd get the V6 but unfortunately not.

The 1.6 is the well worth doing I run 235 tyres and found I was struggling to keep up with other traffic but with the 1.6 I can easily keep up with other traffic, I also find it's now better on fuel because I don't need to work the engine as hard.
It's also made a big difference off road it can pull from much lower revs now,I've also fitted a 410 transfer box which is ideal for my needs I've also got a rocklobster but I found I prefer the 410's gear ratios.

Gaz still has the Jimny transfer box in with 195/80 tyres but I know he was thinking about fitting larger tyres and a rock lobster or 410 box.

If you have a twin cam m13a none vvt engine all you need is an engine from a Suzuki liana and basically take every thing off the 1.3 and bolt it to the 1.6 you will need a screw in tube to hold the oil filter on but their only £10 ish from the dealers and use the 1.6 injectors.

I don't know whats involved in the single cam 13g engine swap but its probably been covered on the forum. :)
