Been looking at getting a second set of rims to put some mud tyres on for winter i've noticed a few jimnys on here with INSA Turbo special tracks on and was wondering what the off road capabillity is like? Mud clearing etc. They look reasonably priced compared to some brands like maxxis.
I had buckshots on my old jimny and never got stuck but there not exactly the cheapest brand out. Will stick to the stock jimny size at the moment as I heard it can void the warranty if you put tyres on that are 5% bigger than stock?
Also what sorta milage do people get out of them?
Cheers

Insa turbo are remoulded tyres hence the price. Special track are a very good tyre in deep mud. On road they are nasty and they get worse in the wet. For winter I would look for a proper tyre with the snowflake symbol.

brilliant tyres in Mud... think they will just dig you in deeper in the snow though.. also would not fancy your chances on Ice either!!..
Best to have a proper snow/winter tyre and be subtle on the throttle and brakes.. unless your out for fun then Rag the hell out of it

On road doesnt matter to much for me as they will just be a second set, I live on a farm aswell so majority of my driving is gravel or off road, only go into town when we need to.
Snow isn't a big deal either aswell as its only snowed here twice for all 19 years ive been alive.
Are remoulded tyres a bad thing? Never had a remoulded tyre so dont know if theres any downsides to them.

All tyres have to be fit for purpose, but a new branded tyre is just a little bit more so. No matter how careful a remoulding company is at checking carcasses they are still second hand.
