Cut and paste is alive and kicking
This is what I have found out
Seems that it was built by Robb Storr of RS manufacturing
was put together on a shell that a tree had fell across the roof

The UK’s most successful off road Jimny? Probably.
Bought by myself in 2005 and converted over the following years into today’s spec.
Please note the winches and private number plates are not included in the sale.
Having competed in Suzuki’s for nearly 20 years this Jimny is at the top of its game and is a regular entrant on the UK’s Top challenge scene. Its last competitive outing was at the 2011 Muddy trucker’s trophy ( www.muddytruckers.co.uk ) and finished 4th overall after 3 days of top flight competition. This vehicle has been a top ten finisher at every event I have entered it in and has never failed to complete an event.
All the work has been done either by myself or Rob Storr at RS-mfg with the sole purpose of winning Challenge events.
Mechanicals
The standard weak Suzuki axles have been replaced with 70 series Toyota Landcruiser axles. All the axles were completely de-bracketed and all new mounts fabricated.
At the same time the axles were stuffed with ARB RD 128 air locking differentials and 4.8 ratio ring and pinions for super low gearing. With high output ARB compressor
The rear axle drum brakes were replaced with Landcruiser discs on RS-Mfg Calliper mounts and all flexi hoses are braided.
The standard suspension has been removed and replaced with RS-Mfg proto front and rear three link suspension for maximum travel. All arms are adjustable and located by 19mm Rose joints on high strength steel tubular arms. Panhard rods are again RS- mfg high strength replacement units, poly-bushed on one end and Rose jointed on the other, with an anodised finish.
Springs are RS-mfg units and are damped by Pro-comp Es9000’s with limiting straps; the whole combination gives a suspension lift of 6 inches. All suspension work was carried out by RS-mfg to the highest standard based on my requirements.
The standard Jimny transfer box has been replaced with an RS-mfg 5:1 geared crawler box giving a 21% gear reduction in high range and 128% gear reduction in low range. All mounted in an RS-Mfg combined transfer case guard and mounting bracket.
The engine and gearbox are the original low mileage units with the oils regularly replaced.
The vehicle’s electrics are supplied by twin Optima yellow top 4.2 series batteries linked in parallel and provide all the power you will ever need. They are charged by the std Jimny alternator, simple and most importantly reliable even in the most extreme winching situations. All the winch cabling is still in place linked back to a single isolator under the bonnet, with a remote pull in the cab.
Wheels and Tyres are Compomotive DFW’s 15 x 10 with 33x11.50 Simex Jungle trekkers with at least 80% tread.
Bodywork
When I purchased the Jimny it had some damage to the rear roof section and is listed as Cat c on the log book, this didn’t worry me as the intention was to truck cab the body work and this was done with a new rear door and rear roof section. Latterly I have bobbed the rear tub and framed the rear for strength whilst still maintaining the std look. The vehicle has a full external cage and bolt on front wing bars.
The car is always dry stored and no rust is present. I have recently re-spayed the axles and chassis.
Interior
All surplus trim has been removed for weight saving, including electric windows, central locking, air bags etc. Whitbread off road seats and pads and four point harnesses replaced the std units. Custom Sherlock foams door pockets and rear bags and bonnet net take care of storage.
A 2.5 Litre AFFF regulation fire extinguisher is fitted for safety purposes.
Winch and free spool controls are fitted on the dash.
Winch Mounts
The front is a Gwyn Lewis 8274 modified mount sat as far back as possible whilst still allowing room for a Gigglepin Twin motor winch. The front crossmember and body mounts have been replaced again to maximise approach angle. With the bumper tied in to the wing bars.
The rear mount is custom made and bolt in again to accept an 8274 and replaces the rear crossmember and body mounts.
Bad bits
I have competed with this car for 6 years at every top challenge event in the UK, so it does have its fair share of knocks, but I have always maintained the car in a presentable condition so would say the bodywork still looks good.
When I changed the transfer box I did not refit a Speedo pickup and always relied on the GPS for Speedo readings. These units are available off the shelf from RS-Mfg and others.
Due to the long travel suspension and minimal resistance from the Rose joints the car does not handle remotely like a std Jimny on the road and the wheels and tyres have never been balanced.
A bullet proof competition proven car, constructed using the best available parts for ultimate reliability at a fraction of the money and time it would take to build another.
