I nearly came a cropper with the aa like this before but was ok in the end. It was close though.

They said it wasn't in his policy so he had to pay the recovery company to take the trailer aswell. He had specifically asked when he took out his insurance if it covered a trailer too and they said yes. He made a complaint and they listened to the recording of his call when he took the policy out and found they had told him he would be covered for the trailer too and paid him back the money he had to pay to be recovered.
I've just told them where to stick the recovery on my Jimny insurance this year as they wrote to me last week telling me that they won;t recover me to home but to the nearest garage that can fix it. That's no good to me as I fix my own cars. I've got a seperate RAC policy I pay into through an insurance policy at work and I think I have AA through my bank account too.
The only reason I paid more for my insurance company's people is that they would recover me from anywhere they could get a flat bed to with no quibbles, regardless of whether I'd been offroad.

If your vehicle breaks down, any attached caravan or small trailer will be entitled to the same service as the vehicle as long as it's attached to the vehicle by a standard 50 millimetre (2 inch) towing coupling
wonder if that would cover my car trailer with a muddy jimny on it
If its got Jimny on its going to be a small trailer isn't it ?

If they'd sent a good driver a bike dolly wouldn't have been necessary
