Here's my truck, 33/12.5's on 10" wide -44 wheels, and just a mere 3" spring lift + some arch hammering/cutting.
And yes, I've driven it in some serious terrain too, and not just on road!
It's easy to fit 33s if you ask me. Much easier than doing the same on an SJ for example. It's the strength of the axles that will be an issue, not making those tires to fit. So swapping the axles will follow sooner or later when running tires this "big", although those stockers have taken some serious beating a few times, but I'm not running any lockers nor "real" offroad tires, so that might have something to do with it... I'm gonna put toyota axles under there in the future when I have some time and motivation...

I have the AR bar still on, and that limits the suspension in travel just enough so there's no rubbing whatsoever. But when I go with some more aggressive tires, I will have to limit the travel slightly with bump stops. But no problems with the current setup...reaper wrote: How are the fronts under compresion and steering ? They look like they would rub

Wrong! I haven't limited anything, and with the 6:5 gearing, it goes SLOW and there is enough power to spin the wheels in every low range gear, and also when I need some more wheel speed I can use long range one and two too.MysticRich wrote: I guess it really depends on what sort of terrain your planning on traveling on but you have probably limited you jimnys ability just for the macho look and I,m sure it won't have much power with the size of your tyres
Admitted it does look well but I would personally after spending some serious money would advise that 31" would still make a lot more sence.
And I've been offroading with guys with toyotas and such running 35-38.5" tires, so I can't say I have compromised anything. Actually I'm pretty impressed by what the little Jim can do with open diffs!

And, eventually I'm going with yota axles and full lockers and maybe 35" tires, because I'm building the truck for serious offroading, and not just some walk in the park green laning crap...
