Busta wrote: If you want easy MOTs get a motorbike! I've built up an old bike for greenlaning and took it for an MOT the other day. The tester wrote down the number plate, we chatted for 30 minutes and he gave me a pass certificate. He didn't even start the engine, which needs to be running for the lights to work!

In all honesty those sorts of test scare me more than some halfwit smashing a bush to generate so work make me angry.

I had a local MoT back in the 90's and they sold up. Like a moron I took mine for its annual MoT to the new owners and he failed it on just such a bush but the bush was fine though to replace it I had to destroy it and my wrist in the process. Just to drum up business fully expecting me to have it done there no doubt. Those were the days when I could get stuff from a local Suzuki.

Well I managed to get mobile again for another year but I can honestly recommend not fitting a trailing arm in the rain laid in a puddle on the drive. It is not a pleasure. At all. Still not to worry, it's all history now.

Well done!
Once these niggles are sorted the next ten MoTs should be straight through - plain sailing. Unless of course you like battering your Jimny on the rocks.

Ermintrude is a pavement princess of the finest quality. Nothing worse than a farm track for my favourite!

Santa was a bit late but I finally got my Tough Dog RTC damper. Only problem is... brackets are for cars with steering wheel on wrong side :) I've cut and welded the bracket that goes on steering rod and managed to fit second bracket on chasis but only with two screws. I'm thinking I'd rather just fabricate new bracket and weld it on chasis than modify original one.

Nice and may I say that looks very clean under there.
