Before-N-After waxoil treatment - any good? was created by GuardianAngel
After much drooling over mods and shiny stuff, I think I need to spend my money first on getting the underside of the J done.

Its got the usual flaky rust everywhere but has just been through an MOT with no advisories on structural rust. Which means, if I strike now, I could prolong the car for a few more years.

I have Googled around on the WWW and have come across a company called Before-N-After ( www.before-n-after.co.uk/ ).

After reading the blurb, I think they sound quite good. But having no experience of these kind of things, are they?

Anybody used them? Any other recommendations?

Try www.rust.co.uk I've used their products and they are really good, recommended in all the classic car mags as best buys.

Particularly Epoxy Mastic 121, Dinitrol Cavity Wax and Dinitrol underbody Wax.

Was trawling some Landy forums last night and came across a mother of all threads with a flame war between BnA and some previous customers. Cant say it gave me a warm feeling.

I will try and tackle some of the rust myself with a wire brush, Kurust etc. Its going to have to be a bit at a time though.

I dont really want to spend £500 for it to be Waxoyled if there is a chance of it being bodged.

Pretty much done mine now.

The front end (under lights and around bonnet mech) needs doing to protect from the salty spray from others. The chassis rails need a bit of a look at, but they tend to just be surface scabby bits. Boot floor is the biggest area, and can be done without back box removal... but it is tight! Older cars rust badly around the fuel tank, but my 04 is fairly clean around there

Give it an damn good cleaning underneath with a stiff brush and hot soapy water, and then a good scrub with a scotchbrite pad. I then used a rust converter on bad areas and then painted 2 coats of the underseal on. Warm the underseal in boiling water until melted! I used Hammerite Waxoyl, and the underseal containing waxoyl in stone chip areas. Takes time to apply, i have done mine over a few months.

Just heading into the first winter with it applied
