Congratulations!!!

I'm lucky to be old enough to have grandfather rights on B+E, but only by a couple of years mind!

me too - can legally drive anything up to 7.5 tonne except a motorbike, road roller, tracked vehicle or invalid carriage
congratulations Russ - I hear the trailer test is tough as you have to reverse park and the equivalent of a three point turn with the trailer on

yes thats one thing about being young -er

yes you have to reverse the trailer into a box which is 45 deg's to the left and behind

and couple and re couple the trailer

then the rest is normal road driving, but trying to drive when you first passed your test  the whole test is 1h30mins

but yes it does seem abit over the top tho

Just stay clear of Darthloachie with a trailer on!!

I think the test was a bit OTT but there are a'lot of idiots out there who cannot handle a trailer safely on the roads.

VOSA are having a BIG clamp down atm on trailers, especially commercials.

Yet how many Landrovers do you see on a trailer being towed by a van that isn't supposed to tow that much!

It's suprising how heavy a trailer with a caged and winch equipped Jimny on must weigh and what you need to legally tow it!

I had a little session working out what I'd need as a tow vehicle if I were to take my Jimjam off the road and use it as an offroad plaything only on SORN. Trouble is that tow vehicle would have to be my daily and be capable of greenlaning on some serious lanes - which would end up being a LR I think - which is not cheap unless it's a rusty old Disco, plus the cost of a trailer.
