No use to anybody then, apart from the doors and maybe the glass...
If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

adamjimny - couldn't you hire a trailer and drag it on an off with a winch and trolley jacks
(supergaz has got a trailer and is up your way  )

You could keep it offroad and hope it never gets the numbers checked I suppose.
When you change the chassis on a vehicle, you destroy the number part of the old chassis before you scrap it (bikes you used to have to send the headstock back to the manufacturer and they would issue a new frame on the original number), and stamp the old number onto the brand new chassis. The registration stays with the chassis number, the reason to destroy the old one is so there aren't 2 vehicles with the same registration number.
The only legit explanation is it has been marked as broken up for scrap with the DVLA
If this is the case you can re-register it but you will have to have it inspected and would get a Q plate.

www.timdutton.com/
2011 was our best year for over a decade - selling 4 times as many Duttons as in 2010 - helped with the launch of the all new IVA compliant Surf based on the Suzuki Jimny. We moved to a factory with its own slipway 4 years ago, to keep up with demand 2 years later we had to double it's size by fitting a mezzanine floor. We cannot expand any more (unless we make a floating factory) therefore due to this significant increase in sales delivery times are unfortunately getting longer (see advisory below for extended delivery times)UPDATE:- now we have already sold more cars this year than the whole of 2011
