Wanted Suzuki Jimny Off roader

The reason for a body lift is to allow taller tyres to be fitted to increase ground clearance for off roading.
It is not needed as asuspension lift will do the same thing and give more articulation, however a body lift is cheaper but you will have to modify the steering column and 4wd selector

My truck doesn't have a body lift but copes with 31" tyres with a 3" suspension lift.

So I want a Lift and not a body lift what else do people suggest are good mods.Anyone know anything about the green jimny on e bay.

Looked OK but has seen some action and the winch wouldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding!

I see it's sold for just over a grand, so could have been a bargain, depending on the condition underneath and the engine / transmission etc.

Spoken to KAP suzuki they have a a Suzuki Jimny with all there bits fitted for sale for £4000 had a good chat with him says that to get a good one I need to be spending more than my £2000 budget.
What does everyone think am I best buying a standard Jimny and putting the bits on myself or do I need to save up.PS KAP seemed like a top bloke.

£4k is alot of money!

You could get a standard reasonable condition, 70K ish miles Jimny with no real rust for £1500.

KAP 3 inch lifting springs = £282
+ 3 inch shocks = about £160
Extended brake hoses from KAP = £60
4 x 235/80/15 Mud Terrain tyres fitted etc about £340

£2342.00

This is just an example. You could get it all cheaper and obviously you've got to fit it all yourself, which is not that hard and you have this website full of people to help you.

There are other things to consider, such as castor correction on the front if you want, but mine is not castor corrected and I've not had an issue with it.

But anything else to the above you can add in time.

The more you spend on a nice shiny Jimny, the more you'll wince as you hear the bushes scratching your paintwork like fingernails down a black board when you go greenlaning or to an off road site - which is the whole point of doing the mods.

Essentially you want a non rusty Jimny without too much need doing to it to keep it reliable. If you find one ready modded near you budget - buy it - if not get a cheaper one and build it up yourself - but you don't need to spend much more than £2k to do it!

Don't get fixated with KAP either. I like Darren, he's a nice bloke and knows his stuff but he's not cheap. Look at Rhino Ray's website - he's also a nice bloke who know's his stuff and he'll chat to you on the phone all day too giving you advice!

£4k is a lot to pay.
mine was just over £3k and has virtually everything you need apart from a winch.It used to be a winch challenge truck so it has a few dents but as kirkynut says you just laugh if you add another dent or scratch.

Be patient and keep searching the offroad websites etc.
