The price wery much depends on what spec the truck has.
If it has rocklobster transfer box and diff locks then you will probably have to pay more than £2k. However £2k should get one with a lift, offroad tyres and steel front bumper.

Try all the offroad forums such as difflock, devon 4x4, etc as well as ebay and pistonheads.
A simple google search also works well.
When we were looking they were like buses - none or lots at once!

Happy hunting - its part of the fun!

I can share your thoughts about getting one built by a company like KAP as you know you'll be buying quality and the work to modify it will be good too.

Having said that I bought mine from KAP but it had been modded by it's previous owner with KAP bits and I had to put a fair few things right after I'd got it home and had a real good look at it.

I'm a bit fastiduous with my work when working on a car and some of the standards of the work carried out by the previous owner was not up to my expectations.

I went straight down to the Suzuki dealers and got the bits to rebuild the front hubs and got on with that aswell as putting other things right.

If I were to do it again I'd buy a standard car and modify it myself. There are plenty out there for £1200-1500, then you have a bit left over for modifying it with suspension and wheels. Bumpers and winches can come later.

Having said that, it is cheaper to buy a readily modded one if you don't have to put right other peoples wrongs! Alot of the stuff on ebay look like wrecks though.

It's a difficult decision but if the right motor comes along, try to think with your head and not your heart when buying it!

What should I be looking for in a Jimny I was thinking suspension lift 2/3 inches with good set of tyres not too big and heavy duty bumper as a minimuim.Everything else like CB sill and diff gaurds seem relatively cheap to add latter. What is the reason for body lifts do I need one.
