Have you added, Mum/Dad/Girlfriend to the policy?

If not see if that makes a difference....

Yeah its with my dad on the policy. It took £500 off the quote but they still want £2000

try and find a policy which will give you no claims bonus as a named driver and put the policy in mum/dads name. Just don't tell the insurance company

I think my only option is to front the insurance.

I refuse to give up my Jimny dream when its only just started.

Especially when there is an old coal pit meters from my front door ;)

I used Endsleigh for my first 7 years of motoring - theyre student insurers ;-) They were cheaper than anywhere else, and i used the "i got quoted XXXX by so and so" and they always beat the "quotes" ;-) Even when i stopped being a student and started teaching, they still came in cheaper :-) as i now drive the college minibus :-P so have additional driving quals. Came a cropper last year when i modded mine though - they cancelled the policy there and then, and wouldnt insure me no matter what, so i turned to Adrian Flux and they covered me.

I recommended Endsleigh to a mate years ago who'd sworn by others, he tried them and stuck with them until last year too, when i he bought his van and needed business use. I tell my students to give them a bell and see what they say - some have had success, but others not. But........ whats there to loose!!! Always ring them and ask for the same person when you ring back with another "quote" to compare

Thanks you guys!

You have been loads of help!

Im now insured and the jimny is sat outside waiting for the dogs approval in the morning.

I ended up getting the best quote from tesco with the old man as a named driver which is a bonus for when we go on fishing trips ect.

once again. Thanks and I hope to contribute in the near future
