the 4wd version is same box as a vit with 2h , 4h & 4L
the transfer box is differant on the 2wd version as there is no front output & no lever they can be converted to 4wd but unless you getting 1 for very cheap its not worth the time might as well just get the 4wd to start with

For the budget i'd just get a Vitara or put more into it and get an early Jimny. The x90 didn't sell in massive numbers and as such i wonder if certain parts that aren't shared ie body parts are hard to come by.
I saw one the other day that just had different wheels on and thought it looked a tidy truck. As others have said though its a pointless truck and imho you'd need to be sure of your sexuality
not the most manly looking truck available.
