king pin bearings can often be the cause of gunge leaking out of the swivel. jack the wheel off the ground, one hand on the top and one hand on the bottom give it a good wiggle to see if theres any play. even better if you can get someone else to do the wiggling while you look at the swivel joint you may see the whole hub wobble on the swivel. theres a 'how to' guide on here.
not sure about vitara springs on a jimny but i'd imagine they'd be to stiff for the jim as the vit is a heavier car.
get some spring spacers if you just want a cheap lift from bits4vits

Hi there,
Order some front axle oil seals too and some CV grease and Hylomar Blue sealant.
You will also want to drain your front diff oil so you may as well get some of that whilst your spending.
The problem with the kingpin bearings being worn has meant that the halfshaft has been moving excessively in the oil seal allowing the axle oil past, which has watered down your CV and front wheel bearing grease and made it gunge that you have seen to come out of the swivel seal.
So the chances are your oil seal has had it now and your CV and wheel bearing are lacking in grease.
The hylomar blue sealant will seal everything back up nicely when you put it back together but don't get it in the way of the seals that seal the vacuum for the free wheeling front hubs or it will clog it up and stop them from working!
Hope this helps and saves you having to do the job twice!
