if i go laning anywhere it costs me a tank and a half at least...

6:1 lobster, 32" tyres, lockright, etc, probably doesnt help does it.

Wow, that is 16mpg

I've just got back from a camping trip and did 180 miles to a tank towing my little caravan - that is 21mpg... somewhat economical compared to yours :P

When I'm not towing and stick to around 55mph I get somewhere around 28mpg.

it sounds as if 22 to 26 is about right for an automatic standard on say 6 to 10 mile runs. Many thanks for your replies, this is reasuring and lets me know that there is nothing wrong.I still love it .It got me home in the snow, up this hill and it was the only car to make it ,so whats not to love about it. Its worth a bit of extra petrol

Glad to hear it! Alot of people buy a Jimny expecting it to be frugal as it is small and has a little engine.
It can be a unpleasant suprise when its actually not that good (although not really bad)
