Hey has anyone removed there standard roof rails before ? Basicly i was thinking of removing them and building my own light bar across instead of attaching to my roofbars to the rails ( looks a bit budget and gay !!) im quessing there bolted on somehow, or how have you fitted your light bars mines on Halfords roof bars at the moment !!

This is a timely thread - thank you.
Jimny needs to spend some time resting in my garage, as I have accidently purchased a big brother for him ('94 Disco 3.9 v8) and the neighbours are getting restless with having me clogging up the road with 4x4s. There's no way on earth the disco is going in the garage and Jimny wont go in with the rails on! Didn't think about the height issues when fitting lift kits and bigger wheels!!
Still, at least I've got something to bring Jimny to the next BigJimny meet....???
