SJ casef fitted, but 4wd light's don't work... was created by Monkey
Hi guys,
What have people done to get there 4wd light's on the dash to work (or go away) with a samurai case fitted?
What sensor have people used? The jimny sensor of the chai drive case, of the samurai case?
Cheers,
Andrew

I just ground the red/white, red/blue and the light's went off
Now, are the lights on the dash meant come on when your in 4wd?

I didn't use any of the original vvt transfer case wiring - I just tied it up out of the way and covered it with insulating tape. I ran a new wire from the red/blue under the dash that plugs into the 4 wd drive controller - I cut the wire that went into the plug - and extended it down to the original sammi switch on the transfer case and then ran a wire from the other side of the switch to earth. Sorry can't send you a pic as I am in the UK and the car is in France!
By using the red/blue wire the 4wd light only will come on. When you use low range, only the 4wd light will stay on. This is because the sammi transfer box has only one switch.
By unplugging the yellow connector under the dash the push button lights on the dash will be extinguished - as long as you don't push them again!
Make sure you put the plug back into the controller otherwise your air con won't work.
Edit
Looks as if we overlapped. The lights on the dash will stay off and won't work.
Edit again!!
As I look out of the window here its snowing - betr its warmer where you are!

I used the sensor from the jimny case, it fits straight on the sj case.

Just to clarify, the lights by the radio won't come on, but the 4wd light by the speedo will
