Dispite no longer being the owner of a 4x4, I was leading a part of mildly modified Landy's / Jeeps etc across the Training areas yesterday on Salisbury plain.
All our group had a minimum of AT's except one rather clean looking 52 Reg O2 Jimny which turned up on road tyres.
Anticipating having to haul this cute jimny around, we set the standard towing eyes with small shackles and secured enough webbing straps to beable to recover it from any direction should the need arise.
Needless to say, the route was origionally one I have only ever travelled in the slightly modified Ooky so I was a little aprehensive.
My fears were however quickly put to rest as the tink jimny gracefully side stepped the slippery mud and climbed the inclines we were faced with ease. Ok, it was very dry out there and a lot of the bywars were baked solid, but the water and mud we did stumble across, she crossed with ease..
Total fatalities of the daw were a Disco who sucked so much water into his air intake it saturated the filter and stalled the engine (30 minites drying out and it was fine however the owner decided that he did not wish to continue without a filter), the second was the lead Shogun, dispite being a V6 on 31's and with a 3" lift, was unhappy with its radiator and decided to drop its coolant... The tiny softtop Jimny though just skipped along.:woohoo:
The decision to sell only 24 hours previously was very much regretted but I know she is going to be used a lot more than the occasional trip on my own 4 or 5 times a year.

Sounds great! Good too hear how capable they are in standard form! And I think I've already clocked up about 140miles since picking her up.
Only managed a little off road and only on the road wheels and tires but she was great!
