Hi

I was offroading last week end when suddenly I here a loud knocking noise from underneath, On inspection I found the o/s mount on the tranfer box snapped close to the bolt where it mounts onto the chasis Is this a common fault with the jimny ?. Also does any one on here have a o/s mount for sale or know where I can get one from thanks.

Ryan.

I have an ASFIR bash plate and some standard mounting arms you can have for £50 + whatever the postage will be, maybe a bit as It's heavy.

I have a couple of new mounting rubbers I think you can have for £10 also as yours are likely to be seized or broken. You'll need a third.£15 from Suzuki each!

PM me if interested.

Yes very common I've broken three!! 1st time I put the front wheels in the air when they came down the weight of the transfer box broke it in the middle, 2nd time I grounded on the transfer box pushing it upwards, broke the mount (in the middle) again. I'm not sure how exactly I broke it the third time, I was in a trials competition at the time. I've now braced it with a bit of flat metal bar and three bolts. I have always managed to get a replacement off Fleabay, I'm reluctant to go for a steel one as I beleive the transfer box might break instead.

I'd get a guard as it is very vunerable if you're doing some serious offroading
