Yes they are a very useful and a good bit of kit as long as they are used in the correct way. I learnt to use them in the Army using two tanks with all the hatches firmly closed and anyone watching stood miles away. We were pulling 10tonne tanks out of holes no problem.

I suspect I am a potential muppet!
I don't off road (yet) so I've not seen snatch towing and I am also unaware of Kinetic towing. I would welcome an explanation of the theory and technique. Thank you.

Hi mate , a KE rope is basically a massive rubber band. when put under tension it builds up energy and pulls the other vehicle out. It enables alot of pulling power over a standard rope, but done in the incorrect mannor this is deadly. Have a look on Youtube you will get some very good videos .
