new panhard rod problems was created by jamesey
fitted new panhard rod but the bolt that fastens into the passenger side axel is threaded and keeps turning , but is very tight , what shall i do for the best as the panhard is still loose , i dont think i can get a nut on the back , has anyone else had this problem , it threaded the hole due to a original seized bolt that kept on turning against the old rubber

Not quite sure I understand the problem based on your description, do you have a photo?
Have you tried holding the joint together with mole grips?

Hi there,
In the future, try to get it to a garage with an air gun and the torque of that should undo it, then you can WD40 and clean up the thread, apply some copper slip and put it back together till you get home and it will come apart easier next time.
I have bought an electic torque gun like this from Machine Mart - a Clarke item, and this has helped in this respect by getting a few stubborn bolts undone. It costs about £80.00.
It also speeds undoing anything, like hub bolts, exhaust parts and wheel nuts, just making life quicker and easier. You have to be careful not to do things up with it too much, especially into alloy, or it'll strip threads at the press of a button!
