I ran standard tyres through the snow and had no problems B)
I like my jimny standard for the fact I can drive fast on motor ways with good mpg and drive on snow :cheer: I do like the idea of tall thin at's for all applications with the gearing to go with it i.e.
lower geared diffs ;)

Going back to your original post - 195/80's are easy to come by.

Have a look on Tyres Direct's website as a rule of thumb as they can get most brands and show what's available by each brand.

Yes Ifound that on their site. But question still stands. Why do some people go for 215 or 235 instead of 195? Is it so they can ride on top of mud, if you go wide enough, or is there another reason?

Hi Wanderinstar and welcome.
The 215/75/15 will fit on the MK1 jimny ok with no lift, but not on MK2 facelift with the bigger bumper, you will have to cut it down.
As for why do some members use 215 or 235 a/t or m/t a lot of them do off roading or green laneing on the weekend so this is the tyre for them.
Or just to make the jimny look different from the norm.
