kingpins, wheel bearings, rust under the boot floor, check the auto locking hubs lock when you put it in 4wd
don't try it on a hard surface as there is no centre diff and you'll wind up the transmission and maybe break a front halfshaft or cv
check for steering wobble at 40-60 mph
make sure there are two keys as they are expensive to replace
and check its not been in an accident

Because the original brackets are made of cast ally and snap very easily.

Yes the original are weak, And they just happen to sell them. I have some KAP transfer box brackets going spare/cheap in my garage, they are ideal if you are not planning on lowering the ratios of your transfer box as many have done with larger wheels. I wouldn't bother though if not planning on much off roading.
