plenty available in a 30 x 9.5, i personally use this tread pattern and find them really good in the mud, they do vibrate a bit on the road but they are not noisey

we've got insa turbo special tracks
Great off road, are oversize by about an inch and are ok on road, not brill on a light dusting of snow but good on deeper snow, and as kirkynut says are noisy and vibrate a bit on road where as the trepadors get good reviews on road and are also popular with the trial guys but in 35" + sizes

Are you referring to the KL71's when you mention they are hard to balance?
I have been considering getting these tyres on my alloys as I really like the look of 'em. Spoke to a tyre fitter today and he said I would get vibration on these tyres because of the tread. Is this true?
Although been a little put off when he said they would cost £96 each to replace (inc. balancing).
OUCH! I want 5 tyres - nearly 500 quid!

so what would the metric size of the 30x9.5 ones be ?
also any recomendations on brand and or tread pattern ?
Then you have to factor in that remoulds are often bigger than what it says on the sidewall - one assumes because they are on an old carcass then have the new bit bonded on top.
Aggressive tyres like Insa Turbo Special Tracks or in my case Malatesta Kaiman's are OK on the road but you will get a wobble in the steering wheel somewhere at a speed - mine's between about 43-46MPH.
I have some Kumho KL71's which are not remoulds but a new tyre and have no wobble with them.
When you consider the shape of the aggressive tyres, they are not really round though. they have many flats to them in a circle. So they are hard to balance if not impossible and therefore will never feel great on the road - but mine are OK.
I wouldn't use them if I used the car for any distance or speed daily though.

I had these Maxxis Bighorns on my old pajero, they were 33"s and were quiet and had no wobble at all.

I wish id kept em so I could fit them to the jimny.
The best UK supplier for these is www.west-coast-4x4.com
I'm going to get a set of these in 31"s for my jimny as I currently have special tracs which are bad on road.

I think they are a good looking tyre, and great both on and off the road.
Id love some 31"s for my jimny over the special tracs, even though they are less aggressive
