I would like to see any thoughts ideas and plans regarding fitting out a jimny with a sleeping arrangment.
Any sketchs pics or plans would be greatly appreciated.
The type of thing that does not require a trailer or roof tent.
I will try to upload my pics so far..

ive slept in the jimny a few times crossing europe, and i dont fancy it again. unless you are under 4 tall, buy a roof tent. i saw a perfect one on ebay for around 400. if you are in a position where you need to sleep in the car (lions outside?) get a bigger vehicle.

1.Take the head rests off the front seats
2.Put the front seats as far forwards as possible
3.Recline the front seat backs fully
4.Recline the rear seat backs fully
5.Enjoy

The rear storage on this thread is excellent, I strongly recommend if you are interested in maximising your storage that you check it all out. The South Africans don't seem to do hard core of- roading like the UK, but they do lots of long haul expeditions in the bush. Where they need to camp and carry extra fuel and water
A guy called Ore has made an excellent shelf out of 18mm board which fits on the rear arm rests and is easily removed. It has been nicknamed the OreRak, (rack get it!!). Also he has posted a proper drawing which enables it to be made out of a standard 1/2 sheet of ply ~ £13. I'll see if I can find my copy and post here.

Storage shelf found at last on other PC. A simple way to put a removable shelf in the rear of the Jimny. All credit goes to Ore on the 4x4 Forum South Africa. Cover with carpet to prevent scratching the plastic.

I like zukenutters set up I would like to see more about the build.
Thanks for input chaps.
Any one got any ideas regarding an awning for rear with the door opened..
I would like to see a roof tent on a jimny to see what it looks like.
Also has any one got an idea of getting hot running water.
I was thinking of utilzing some bits from an old gas or oil boiler.
I will probably blow my eyebrows off :woohoo: :pinch:
And I dont want to just boil water, I am thinking of a compact stainless sink and a mini boiler and handy gas bottle underneath. Any thoughts would be good.

are you sure you really need a Jimny and not one of these
reckon this would be easy to make - looks like it just sits on the rear door
not sure about the point of the seat (unless you've got short legs) but had thought I could eventually do something similar for bitch when she's older and can't jump in (note that's the DOG and not the missus) :pinch:
