After A Bar - and hello to all! was created by Rosie
Hi there everyone!
After driving hired Jimny's in Greece for quite a few years I've eventually bought one for myself! I don't intend to off-road it but liked the site so am asking if anyone knows the best place to get an A bar? Its not just for posing, I have to go down many muddy country lanes where I live and the tourists make the odd bump inevitable!
Thanks!

Hello there,
I have just bought a Jimny that has a chrome "A" Bar on it but will be removing it for Off Roading as it will be a problem rather than give protection!
The reason I say this is that it goes down before comiing back up to it's mount on the chassis and goes out some distance in front of the vehicle. This means that it vastly reduces your approach angle.
Also, I would not like it to hit anything because it is only thin tubing that appears obviously weak and the mounts appear to be as strong as tin foil!
If you knocked something with this it would break at the mounts and be forced into your plastic bumper and cause damage to it. If you didn't have it on there, you might not have hit the object and might not have caused any damage, or your bumper may have just absorbed the impact with minimal damage if any.
So I would advise against getting one.
Mine I think has been spoken for by my partners Mum for her soley road going Jimny, but otherwise, if you still want one I shall let you know.
Kirky

I think you will have more difficulty finding an A-Bar since early 2007. The law changed then making it illegal to fit such items to new cars. This has put a lot of suppliers off from selling them and certainly the main dealers are moving away from selling them even though it is ok to put them on older cars.
A usual good source for these is www.formula4.co.uk but I cannot see jimny items listed.
www.suzuki-shop.co.uk do not list them
There is a guy on ebay listing the soft fibreglass ones
These people www.autostylinguk.co.uk/suzuki-jimny-c-21_163.html still list them

Dear Rosie,
Looks like mine is going on my partner's Mum's Jimny, sorry.
I might even be fitting it for her today! Brrr!
