Lol, it was a bargain bulk lot :p You can hear the dozer from a long way away, have a video of it passing the zook at a quarry. The tyre squeal was at a round-about and the tyres were a little low in pressure. I use Nankang touring 683's for road use, 215/60 15's They are M&S tyres and stick like glue to bitumen. Recently exposed clay beds make for interesting driving when raining but I seldom have the need for the mud tyres unless I want to really play up ;)

Here is my new exhaust. I have used the small middle silencer from a diesel Datsun exhaust and had it made in to the back box with a 3" stainless steel tip. It sounds much beefier but not too loud:

great job Adam, very compact and tucked away, sounds good B)

taken from a Datsun  can't imagine there'd be much demand for them :silly:

Thanks Halford :) . Unfortunately I can’t take credit for the making of it, I took it to a local exhaust place I know reasonably well who did it for me, they’ve done an amazing job.

I went to an exhaust and component place who took me in to a little room where they had a stock of old discontinued exhausts, hence the Datsun silencer. £10 for the Datsun silencer and £70 for the garage to modify and fit it. That’s £80 in total and £70 cheaper than the KAP back box :cheer:

excellent bargain. :woohoo:

was going to say that it might be worthwhile trying to give it some protection as any metal on Datsuns didn't last long - like Suzuki exhausts apparently  but that would probably cost more than the silencer itself.

Think you've shown our members the way to go ;)

Yes that does sound good, very similar to the KAP. I would have loved to go the custom route as I spent 10 years as a welder :s but now running my own business I haven’t got the time. I would rather light a match than rub 2 sticks together if you know what I mean. Nice looking motor too Adamski!!
