I'm thinking about tinting my windows for security.. and because it looks cool.
What sort of price would i be looking at ..?

Thanks as always,
Luke B

I was quoted £110.00 incl vat. for the rear 3 windows a few months back (special offer I was told).
look for a local company offering car window tinting or companies that do auto graphics / signage usually also do (and have the skills) window tints.

when I do get mine done, I'll also get a matching tinted windscreen visor, maybe 4 or 5 inch deep.

won't be for a while I think as exhaust is starting to go and tax/ins due next month :S

Find a firm local to you and hopefully they will quote you sensibly and you should be able to see their own car/van to get an idea of the standard of their work. I've seen a local place that can't seem to do the edges very well.

As an idea last time i was quoted was for a mondeo a few years back and it was £270.

I'd like mine done too when funds permit, its like an oven in there without.

Black Jimny's don't get stuck!

I've seen the tint film for sale in MAKRO. I think it was in the £10 range, certainly quite cheap.

I'll see if I can go in this week and get details.

I'll post in this site and get a so for interested parties. I think there was silver and grey tint.

I got mine done - have a look at my thread in the My Jimny section. I was quoted £100 cash for the back three, but got all five and the sunstrip done for £150. Proper job too, back window and front windows out for a perfect finish. The front windows have next to no factory tint and the light smoke doesn't look much darker than factory glass on other cars - I certainly wouldn't want to go darker on them.

I bought tint film a while ago and tried to fit it last Saturday, unfortunately it went a bit like this,

The film ended up in a crumpled ball on the driveway!! I ended up with nice clean windows though!!Has anyone had any success with DIY tint film?
Cheers,
John.
