Interesting you say about the Transfer box mount's.
When i first got my Jimny i was "advised" they are the
first thing to go on Jimny's.
Well i've been around Jimny's for a while now and Cam Suzuki come
to Tong with there jimny's and give them absoloute death.
never seen a transfer mount go, Halfshaft's and cv's yes but no
box mount's.
There was a Suzuki show on at Tong a few month's ago and i took my Jimny up to
show what can be done loads of people were asking me about it
so i shared my knowledge (and Bigjimny) i later found that
someone was claiming that HE built my jimny and i bought it
off him.
I'm sorry but check out my pic's on here i built it myself!!!!!!
Sad thing is the garage is only about 10 miles away from me
and all the good places are ...Darn Sarf.....
I cant claim to have to much dealing with Kap but do own a Jimny that was originaly built by them.
Parts fitted by them are:6 point internal cage, 3" lift, Twistie radius arms, adjustable panhards, pro comp shocks and heavy duty TX mounts.
When I first got the car I wanted to know more about its history so gave them a buzz and it was Darren I spoke to, I have to say considering I wasnt actually calling to spend money he did take the time to remember the car. He advised me that the Twisties are really designed for trialing and that I really shoudnt use them on the road... At least this was being honest I suppose.
As i mentioned before, i inherited my twister arms, but the lad i bought the car from was sold them for road use.... but they were one of the first set of twisties. Ive welded mine up and i dont get any less flex out of the car.
Basically i think theres a problem with many aftermarket parts suppliers, they cant properly test theyre parts and therefore sell them as 'off road only' - this came up recently after a couple of sets of ORA radius arms snapped,(design has apparently changed now) apparently theyve put a disclaimer on theyre suspension parts page now stating off road use only.
This of course leaves us with a predicament, what do we use for greenlaning? most of us use our cars on the road too, some as a daily driver.
So I'm picky with what I'll buy to fit to my car, radius arms from DG tuning have been fantastic for me in the past, and friends have them now too,I'm saving for more for my current jimny. Rob Storr bits have always been fantastic, I'd love some arms made by him, but I'm not that rich lol.
