Unless a PC Plod is anywhere with a view of them.
Then you can start adding the points up and tutting at the fine.
OR, get locked up for "inpersonating a blah, bla, blah...." etc, etc.
And losing your bus.

The use of blues and tones is a very grey area -
www.ukemergency.co.uk/index.php?option=c...icle&id=52&Itemid=61
- is pretty comprehensive on. My trucks got grill strobes and wig wags and a siren -

The simple way I haven't been pulled for them is by rigging the system that controls them so that only the driver can operate them and by NEVER using them on the public roads. Its so tempting when you have a sunday driver or chav in front, but that would loose me my licence as Keefe says - impersonating a copper wont go down too well. The other factor is mine have clear lenses and in my interpretation of the law, that makes them legal (see above link). Incidently - its not illegal to buy the stuff, a quick search of the net provides the suppliers who will sell you them no questions asked - again another fine example of the law of the land

Not to rain on your parade but if a plod, especially a traffic plod even suspects that those clear lamps in your grill can flash blue, you'll be locked up within minutes and probably have the Jim taken off you.
If it is possible to turn them on whilst the engine is running you're for it.
It's the easiest option and safest way to 'get you' then let a court sort it out, if the lens are clear etc, Mr plod will say, "So what? You're not obliged etc, etc, etc."
It will be up to you to prove why you have them fitted and why do you think you're allowed etc, etc.
If you have any covert ones, hidden behind grills etc, then that will make the pull even worse.
Perhaps they are a little lenient, blind or don't 'give a stuff' up by you but down here it's a big no no, oh, and a siren just compounds the offences.
But apart from that.............
