Jimny Stereo Speakers was created by Bannerbrother
Just fitted in my new stereo in my 2000 jimny (sohc) but it appears that my jimny only has 2 speakers working (in the front foot wells) do jimnys only have 2 speakers standard because it looked like there is some just behind the the front seat in the plastic just below the seat belts.
May be i have some dodgy wiring somewhere, or is the grill piece of plastic just a space for more to be fitted????????

Mine is exactly the same, just the two speakers in the front.
There is space behind the rear trim to fit speakers which is what I intend doing myself quite soon.

Bannerbrother,

No wires in there that I've seen. Like you say lazy guys at Suzuki. (Penny pinching!) :)

I wonder if they were an option on some as the space is there or as with most Suzuki's the jap ones got stuff we don't.

I've got speakers in the back of mine that are shot and sound awful, i got some 6x9's of someone and when digging about found some truely shocking attempt and wiring! It looks like they had some other speakers elsewhere at some point and had just patched into the wiring so its all sort of daisy chained. When i get chance i'm taking it all out and running some new wires to the back.

Some people shouldn't be allowed near cars when you see what they try and do!

Black Jimny's don't get stuck!

If you strip out the back of the car completely in order to remove the side panels, you will find the wires from the radio for the rear speakers end up in a small plug inside the left hand (passenger side) rear wing about 1/2 way along. (Taped to the rear light harness.)

Removing and refitting all the trim takes most of a morning so have the speakers and wire ready or be prepared to drive with no trim or seats in the back until they arrive.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Must add this! 10cm speakers will drop straight in, 13cm will go in with a bit of swearing. I got some 13cm kenwoods for £5 from halfords, but once I came to fit them, i just swapped them with a mate for some 10cm, (EASY) Remember to remove the rubber stuff from behind the speaker grills on the trim panels aswell.

If you like you music like me, go do the hole lot, the way it should have come from suzuki, starting off with a decent head unit(deck), then put some 4"splits and the front and mount the tweeters on the dash. For the rear speakers i mounted mine where those weird plastic cover things are behind the rear seats so you don't get any holes in the sound. Add a small slim line sub and what nice sound. :P
