Now Ill beable to use 5th gear again on the roads and upgrade to 31's as soon as I get the thing fitted.
One question, how easy are they to fit ? is it a quick job or more involved ?
I understand im going to need a few additional items to mount it to the Jimny transmission ... Dont suppose anyone has any of these items kicking around spare ?

When you fir the speedo conversion, the sensor needs to be quite close to the gear to be able to pick it up. About 1mm or so I found by just moving it closer and closer until it worked.
I just used a bolt with a few nuts to lock it in the right place along the bolt and the bolt to the sensor and bracket. You'll see what I mean.
Are you getting one of Richard's bucket mounts - if not I would urge you to spend the little extra to get one rather than just have arm mounts as it will protect the transfer box no end. My bucket mount has been bashed and scraped to hell and back and it would have been the transfer box it's self otherwise.
Also, as noisy as they can be as they transmit the transmission noise, do use the nylon bush and bolt mounts that Richard will give you with it. I can't see rubber mounts lasting long.

Richard has told me, the ratios are 1.5:1 High and 4.16:1 Low.
As for price, I donot want to post specifics on the forum ( I paid a little more because Richard sourced the required boxes ).
Ill wait to see the finished article and then start a shopping list...

Keep an eye on Suzuki Club Uk's forum, you'll have to join it obviously, but they often have lots of SJ bits for sale.
I would get new UJ's put on the SJ front prop when you do get one, so you know it's good to start with, rather than have to trace vibrations etc. I got the balance on mine checked too as they are all a bit old now.
If you can, get greasable UJ's - ie: with a grase nipple. I asked for them but didn't get them - ahhhhh! Next time Gadget! I'll have a bash at fitting them myself next time I think and source them myself. I don;t think they are as hard as I was frightened they would be.
You will be amazed at the control you gain more than anything.
When you tip it over the top of a large hill you no longer tabogan to the bottom with no engine braking, you plod down against alot of engine braking.
Also, being able to crawl over bumps gently, rather than using momentum all the time to avoid you stalling or running out of puff is great. It's a different way of driving and far more relaxed and as I say - controlled.

You also need to bend the gear leaver due to it,s position .... in the samy original position it will be jammed in 4H
I think from what I was told that this is the most difficult part of the lot and they need serious heat to bend ...
Cant wait to get my one fitted as well .....

yes thats right took me a bit of trail & error to get it in the right shape with some oxy/propane

The lobster box and the mount is an impressive bit of kit, and is now ham write black.
Just a few questions .., it didn't come with mounts... I see mounts have been mentioned.. Is it wise to get new mounts ?
Also I see the speedo drive, and also a splined gear. In the how to section there is an ORA kit that has a black plastic sort of cover ... So I need one if these ??

Do you mean you've opened the box from Richard or Rob?
You need new mounts, the orange nylon bushes with a bolt through the outrigger and the bushes and transfer box mounts. Nothing else will take the abuse for long but these transmit a bit of transmission noise.
You don't need the plastic casing round the speedo drive. The sensor needs to be so close to the drive gear that dirt won't fit or stay between.
