mines a 2000 and the chassis and floor are solid,

rest of the body is not bad - more dents than rust :whistle:

just a bit behind where the rear bumper meets the wheel arch on one side (offroading damage where the top of the plastic bumper has rubbed on the body and on the front left wing where theres a serious dent causing the paint to crack off - both now touched up with very expensive suzuki touch up!!

other than that just where there were stone chips :)

Mine's 2001 Y reg and I had to weld the inner sills for the MOT in January, no one else seems to have or admitted to having the same. My boot well has surface rust but no holes!
I may have accelerated the sill problem as they have a corrugation along the length of them like a crumple zone which I have certainly crumpled!! (no sill bars yet) and they burst.

On the 9th day he swapped it for a Jimny.

i guess you would class myself as a landrover man also but i have to commute a distance for business so the jimny fits the bill,since ive had it though i must say i am quite impressed.small and easy around town but large vehicle feel with the mud terrains on.my car is a 2001 model and has been offroaded before but all seems well with the tin worm.one thing i do with my car is spray the underside with old engine oil a great way to preserve your car especialy when off roading.when its been done it also gives the vehicle a nice shiny appearence underneath.i carry this out every 8 months or so its cheep and easy and the oil is free.

After much deliberation I sprayed mine with old oil in September but kept clear of the sills cos I knew I'd be welding them in January, it's a pig of a job! but it looks like I should do it again now and again in Sept as it does seem to wear off.

So whats the plan with rust patches, chop them out and weld a bit in?

Depends..... not 100% sure on MOT rules but iirc rust only matters ( on bodywork ) so many cm from suspention and near seat belts........ could be wrong tho and dont know the entire rules tbh.
Im trying the wife for a mig welder..... but might get a mate from up the road to do it if there too expensive.

Ohhh...... and if its dangerous..... like sharp etc and could cut a pedestrian if you hit them.
