New Tyres ... soon?? was created by maverick
I have 16" GV Rims - and my 205/75/16 Diamond Backs will need repalcing soon - they've been great tyres.
Who has what ... and why would they recommend them ... ?
Cheers,

The Diamond Backs were quite agressive in their day and lots of people have commented how grippy they are. So much so I think that if you got anything less aggressive you would feel like you've gone backwards.
I have just bought some Malatesta Kaimans - Insa Turbo Special Track tread pattern - from Tyres Direct and noticed these keenly priced which are very similar to the Diamond Backs:
www.tyresdirectuk.co.uk/xcart/product.ph...16653&cat=271&page=1
I found Tyres Direct Service to be great - I ordered in the morning and the delivery driver was banging on my door at 07:30 the next day!
I phoned my order through rather than online and checked the stock level first that way though.
If you didn't fancy them I would go for Insa Turbo Special Tracks as they can be got from far more suppliers and are always in good stock in that size. It was just the price of the Malatestas that caught my eye!
I wonder how good ITST's would be on rock for your forrays into Derbyshire etc but noticed Dave runs them or similar on Stealth and I don't think he has any problems do you Dave?

Cheers Kirk, they look like the ones for me ... although i am going over to Dave's to put his whhels tyres (from Stealth) onto mine and take it out for a spin (aka offroad) ... as he has 15" modulars and those Insa Turbo Special Track on them ...
If the Insa Turbo Special Track are too big (which we suspect they might be) then I'll be getting those Malatesta Kaimans - good price too, huh!

My malatesta kaimans are 215/80/15 and my mate can't measure as they are only 28+1/4 inches tall but I still need extended bumpstops.
The others in the link above - malatesta trac's - are 205/80/16 and I noticed you say yours are 205/75/16, I think my mates old Itst's in 205/80/16 were 29+1/4 inches tall.
Sorry for any confusion.

I'm mega happy with my Maxxis Buckshot Mudders, good in mud and quiet on the road.

My Diamond Backs are slowly tearing themselves to bits .. Ive now lost on average, 8 outer treadblocks per corner!!..
Im thinking of either going for 215R15 Malatesta Kaiman's or 215R15 Malatesta Trac's
I find, the type of offroading we do needs the Jimny to "bite" into the terrain. All my landy mates run Special Tracks or BGF Muds
