dont think its a cv joint no noise when both hubs removed,i will inspect the hubs tomorow ive got to do the bloody washing up now,women just do not understand.

Thats what made me think CV. If there is no noise when the hubs are removed then this is because the front shafts are no longer rotating. so you have to think what has stopped turning when you do this...

These all stop rotating when the hubs are disconnected.
