biggaz wrote: Ahh, i thought you might have had them John.. they seemed to cope very well at pea farm in that mud! or do you think without the transfer and difflock they wouldnt have coped so well??

thats what you need though Dave, the lowdown from someone thats used them!

John are you moving from 16's or just fancy new tread?

keeping the 16s gaz just looking for a better offroad tread. i use mine mainly offroad so not that bothered about on road manners, probs get a highlander tread or insa sahara. special tracks are too extreme av seen quite a few smashed CV's running those
if dave uses his mainly on road then i reckon the trackers will be fine, a good cheap tyre and do the business offroad too
yes would deffo go rocklobster if going 29" tyres or above, the jimny low 1st and clutch just isnt up to it when running git big tyres

No, not yet but it'll be on the cards sooner than later.
Just need to get back walking and then back to work to get the money coming back in.
Thinking about a 410 box to start with or store it till I can get a 413 box and all the other bits then have a mad modding session all at once.
Have got some fw hubs but not fitted them yet.
That reminds me, must order some spacers and bolts from the shop before I forget again.
The Recips at the moment are 205/75R15s.

yeah i got the recip on mine, in 31 size, they seem quite good, but i have gone through 2 CV's, but they do tend to fill up with mud quite easy tho

That does look a nice Jim, Mr Blue, I like it. Especially the cage and that bumper. B)

What lift you got on that?

I have 2.5" Rhino Ray spring lift and the means to lift the body 2". (just not got round to it yet) I have Rays bigger (or lesser?) offset wheels so track is a little wider. No wheel spacers.
Would I need, in your opinion, the body lift to fit the 31 Recips?

Now my knee is getting a little better and the weather, I'm getting the urge to clear the garage out and do some work on Jim.

Cheers

Keith :)

i suppose the best option is to fit the 31's and see but im sure the body lift will help, but also you will need to do some arch work, here's how much of mine was removed, and i get no rubbing form the tyres

You could also fit 2" spring spacers to get the same effect - I have a 3" lift and 2"spring spacers and 31" special tracks on (which measure 32+") and 30mm wheel spacers
Only hits the plastic wheel arches on full flex (well hits the wheel arch extensions really) - not the inner arches

I thought it was +3 springs and body lift on Bluejimny. Just spotted you have b4v spacers aswell. Very happy with my recent order of +3 springs last month (Thanks), i've used b4v spacers aswell giving 4.5' lift. Id love to do a body lift aswell, but I cannot understand why b4v/ jimnybits/martin ect don't do a spacer for the steering aswell.
