retreads are tires re cut

remoulds are old tires melted down and new ones formed so the rubber is a mix of old rubber

then you have proper tires

the difference is retreads are usually lorrys. remoulds dont last as long as normal tires but do the same job and a dam site cheaper!

im remoulds all the way.

if you do lots of road distance you will get more miles and the tire will not show wear as much if you get normal tires where as the road can be harsh on remoulds

remoulds are where the rubber is removed down to the base carcass - steel or synthetic plys are still on and then a new outer wall and tread is moulded on

If you are doing reasonable road miles then consider something like a Kuhmo KL71 which are new radial tyres but very similar prices to insas and are pretty good ofroad

Ok thanks, now i know. Here in Aus we do have some re-treads but they are not a big thing over here, as our roads are very harsh on tyres.

a 215/75/15 remould would not fit... it's bigger and you will get rubbing.
