The end times are upon us.

Not at all jimny related but I'm just trying to buy some nuts and bolts and for reasons I can't fathom I can't find a physical supply of m12 bolts in 8.8 grade in a quantity of less than 50. I need 4. Yes I can get them off the Internet and yes I'm sure in other less tourist reliant towns there's probably loads of little shops with buckets full of them I could just rummage through. If this is what a post industrial society looks like, I'm not a fan! Shop local they say, support your community and businesses they say,  how if no one sells what I want to buy?

Oh and threaded bar only seems to come in 1 metre lengths now for some reason?

Sometimes it can be very hard to shop local, I think Amazon has a big part to play in it as it is often the quickest and easiest way. It will only get worse with Temu and Shein. I do draw the line at those two though!

But the Internet comes with it's own problem namely lead time and shipping costs and could I really rely on a courier being able to deliver a single length of m6 Threaded bar in anything resembling a straight and usable condition?

Cant buy M10 or 12 bolts in quantities more than 4-6-8-ish here so it is the oppsite problem.
Was building a stable from galvanized steel beams and girders and the swedish kit came with all the wrong nuts and bolts. Had to buy 10 packs of bolts insted of a large case of 50 pcs..

And yesterday I had to buy 1m of copper pipe to fix a leak and only needed 20cm. Wich was a good thing as I cut the first pipe too short.
Still got the 60cm for the next leak.
