the JBL C4 was named best sound product here in Norway. Friend of mine had an earlier version that was really good.

End of March for daylight saving time.
This is in my case to replace the entire speaker and stereo system in the car not to add to the existing. I already have a very high powered system but I am concerned about it being targeted and stolen because it is obviously not the factory system, you can tell as I drive past it sounds meaty on blast which means I don't use it's full potential to maintain some discretion which in turn makes the whole thing somewhat redundant. As to power, I am usually driving when the tunes are on anyway so it can charge as I go.

Oooh I could never drive without a spare. Even when the car does not come with one I get one.

So have finally got half an hour to myself for the first time in months I took myself to curry's to see in person what is available. It's looking like the jbl charge is possibly a little bit small for my taste so the jbl extreme 2 is most likely. It manages to sound loud playing pop music in a huge open shed. Ok it's never going to bump like a proper mounted system but in the confines of the Jimny I think it is going to be adequate even with the windows down doing 70 on the motorway. It's also only about 5 inches in diameter and maybe 10 inches long so still very compact and should be easy to secrete away from prying eyes. Is it payday yet?

Sometimes you have to sleep on an idea for a while. After a weekend in the North East it has become apparent that actually having a cd player in the car is quite useful, being of an age where I still have a huge number of CDs waiting to be mp3 ed. It was also useful to be able to turn up the volume high enough for hearing Tony Robinson over the open window. All of which does then question the 200 quid investment in an inferior solution? Back burner for now I think.
