I think of this (sorry Dave)
It's just a good thing he had this to protect his vehicle (typed in a sarcastic tone):
This may start a little bit of a debate, which likely should take place at the local pub, but I meet so many people at my club that think the higher the better and I am at a bit of a loss. It seems that many want a vehicle they need a ladder to get into.
I have a simple philosophy that all the things you do to the geometry of a vehicle should be done only to the degree necessary to meet the requirements of where you drive; anything more than that creates a disadvantage.
Not meant as a challenge, as I am sure it has much to do with personal taste, but I am curious why people go after excessive lift. Before anyone replies, I concede from the beginning that using the term excessive is subjective. Mostly just curious.
I started out with nothing & still have most of it left

As someone currently searching for negative lift I have no idea what you mean!

The r and d on this is not going well. At the moment it is either custom made at significant expense or lopping coils off lift springs which is a mathematical minefield when relying on the random information suppliers give.

Hmmm, not wanting to start an argument / debate, but...
I've been driving lift Suzukis, Vitaras at first before upgrading to a Jimny, and have never rolled or 'had a little lie-down'
Didn't know what the second photo was, so had to Google it, to find it was a wing (fender?) bar that goes from the front bumper to the sidebars...
I have a simple philosophy that all the things you do to the geometry of a vehicle should be done only to the degree necessary to meet the requirements of where you drive; anything more than that creates a disadvantage.
Totally agree, I need lift and clearance to drive over rocks and in the ruts left by vehicles with bigger tyres, we take our little Jimnys through some of the gnarliest 'greenlanes in the UK...
And with enough lift and articulation it can do this -
... rather than not flexing and therefore falling over!
