Me and my Dog Milo
I couldn't find a Pet Corner section so pardon me if there is one and I am just hopeless at searching. My Dog is called Milo. He came from a Shelter up in Wentworth in NSW. His Litter-mates had already been killed when he was rescued and taken to the shelter. From Wentworth he was taken to Mildura in Victoria, which is only 190 K's from me and I went and picked him up when he was 5 months old. He turned 8mo on 11th July. His adoption papers read as: Mother Pure Bred Whippet, Father neighbours sneaky Brindle Staffordshire Terrier. That was why they killed the litter
He is the fastest thing around, most destructive thing too, which I am hoping he will grow out of. Best nature. I have provided him with everything imaginable except company as there are only 3 people in my town. Jeannie, Keith and me. 8 chooks and about a million cats which Milo is not too sure about. Uncountable millions of rabbits which he catches and eats on a regular basis.
He has learnt not to bail up Echidnas down in their warrens. Came out one morning after running into an Echidna and his nose looked like a shower rose, blood pouring out everywhere. Now he ignores them. He is very wary of the Goannas but this time of year they mostly sleep under the back bedroom. Kangaroos he keeps clear off too, so he must have met up with them when I have been out and about. I'm hoping he will learn to be wary of the Eastern Brown Snakes as they are the 2nd most deadly land snakes in the World and we have plenty of them here. Milo loves to run out in the 100 acres and every day we go for a walk across the road and into "Town" where the Mail shed is. This shed isn't locked and the mail is just chucked in there for us to go through and pick out our items. My Lawnmower was recently delivered there as well as the new 22" chainsaw. Lots of farmers call in to check their mail and Milo and I chat with them at about 10-10.30am Mon to Fri.
Milo doesn't bark for some reason. He can bark, he just chooses not to. Bit weird hey. I am dying (as slowly as I can) of Cancer and Milo is very protective of me and cuddles up to me and excuses me for being so slow. I only put a lead on him until we cross the railway tracks. Then I hand him the lead and he carries it quite cheerfully as he bounds away to explore. If he has to drop the lead for any reason he goes and picks it up to keep on carrying it. :woohoo:
A few pics of me and Milo.
Milos' dog collar reads: Milo of Cowangie 3506 Mob 0466 248 942
He doesn't actually have a Mobile Ph, the number is mine and I answer for him

Love 'em. They must fill the Jimny when you take them for a drive.

Always happy aren't they, Dogs. I think that is one of the most important things we get from Dogs. Cats are fine, but they can get along quite well without us and let us know that all the time. Dogs, on the other hand, rush to greet us, want to be with us and are happiest when they are with us. In Oz, most jobs allow us to have our dogs with us, unless working indoors. I'm sorry to hear that you don't have your dog with you anymore. I'm not game to ask why in case it was traumatic but I can feel for ya.

We have 2 cats Ian.....well I say cats but I think the big one is a dog in catskin.
They both rush to greet me when I get home!
To date we've had 4 cats....all strays....I can't figure out why they want to adopt me to be fair.
Possibly it's because I spend a lot of time in my shop.....they kind of just move in...slowly....then one day they live with us!!
I'll get a couple of pictures of them..
Puss2 and Mally.....and Mally is strawberry blonde fyi....not ginger!
