just had a look at Which and hope it helps ...................
Saga Breakdown is the outstanding performer of all the providers we received feedback on this year. Not only does it achieve the highest Customer Score, but it blitzes other third-party rivals with five-star performance ratings. It’s available only to drivers over 50, though. £68.99
AutoAid represents the best value of the third-party providers on test, with the full package for roadside assistance, recovery and home start costing around a third as much. £39.90
AA is still the mainstream breakdown provider of choice. It is second only to Saga in terms of response and repairs (note that Saga Breakdown is actually provided by the AA). And the three Which? Recommended Providers in the carmaker-branded table (Toyota, Honda and Jaguar) all use the AA as their service provider. £114.99

I have the 'free' breakdown insurance with my Adrian Flux insurance, only had to use it once (busted fan belt) but they sent out a recovery vehicle from the same town and it was quick and straightforward. You'd have to ask about the 'off road' insurance but if its a lane then its on the highway.

Along the lines of the above, get insured with a specialist insurance company that understands what you want and pay for their recovery.
I have had issues around this in the past but was lucky enough to overcome it but it was close to me being refused recovery as I had been at Slindon and it was very muddy!
I only green lane now so it's less of an issue.

I have been at a play site with someone in a disco who required recovery home.
Someone towed them off the site and about half a mile down the road.
AA recovered them to home address, but driver made him jet wash his load bed clean afterwards! All done in good humour.
I don't think any service will come down a green lane to get you, but they should pick you up from the "highway" at the end.

The AA won't recover you from an off road site, so you can have a problem unless you overcome it with a tow away but even then they know what you have been doing. That's where sometimes discussion is had. Some recovery guys want to discuss it more than others. I don't think laning bothers them as much but you'll need to get yourself out of the lane. Most recovery companies will only recover you from where they can get their flat bed.
Unfortunately my Jimny and my old SJ have used the big yellow taxi and others!

Yes - this is why I suggest getting insured by a specialist insurer and buying their recovery as opposed to other insurers who may tolerate some mods but their recovery is AA, RAC or Green Flag with their standard conditions etc. They can still only recover you from where they can get their truck as they can only do what they can do but P&P sites have marshals who ought to help you get it out to a place suitable for this.
